Our silly cat

For the last few weeks, Gordon has slept under the couch everyday from about 6am to 5pm. He has made two holes under the cushions (naughty boy!!!) and that's how he gets in. Usually he wriggles down and the cushions fall back into place so you would never know he is in there! Today Kate lifted it off fo him as she was sitting right there.

Anyone else has a cat who sleeps in funny places?

An afternoon in the sun

We headed out to the park this afternoon with the bikes, some food and a bit of light reading

A great playground for the kidlets

Plenty of room for riding

These monkey bars were the perfect height
for little legs

The girls spent an hour on this horrible spinny thing!
Honestly I hate these things.

A stroll past the lake ...

... to watch the boats

Ruby gets glasses too!

Yes! It's official ~ this is the glasses family! All the girls now wear them. It's such a strong genetic condition that affects females on Phil's side of the family. He is the only male - well he is a bit of a girl ha ha! He doesn't wear specs, but had numerous operations on his eyes growing up.

So Ruby got hers on Friday - aged 4yrs 5mths. She is in Kindy. Amie was also in Kindy when she got hers at 4yrs 8mths. Kate got hers in Year One at 5yrs 9mths, and Ella got hers in Pre Primary at 5yrs 7mths.

Luckily the girls love their second eyes and have no trouble being reminded to wear them or keep them on. They do get bent out of shape a bit though :)

Anyone else out there with a family full of bad eyesight?

Assembly News

Ella got an Honours Certificate at assembly today (sorry for the crappy photo) She's second from the left. It was awarded to her for writing wonderful stories and always working beautifully. Well done Ella!!!

More Flowers

Amie's latest gorgeous arrangements. The top one she made at the wedding workshop and the second one she made for a friend of mine. Isn't she clever!

What have we been upto?

Actually it's been pretty quiet around here lately. The girls have been working hard at their dancing lessons. They have a mid-year concert at the end of June, then in July they have exams! We have the dates now for the end of the year concert too. The first rehearsal is the 19th of November! Now this might seem along way away, but I'll bet it will be here before we know it!

The girls are right into Monopoly at the moment. It's been really great for Kate as she's always the banker. Great for her maths! Ella is just starting to get the hang of it ~ but she gets cross when she has to go to jail :P

The patio is still coming along. S-l-o-w-l-y!

We've had all the security put on all the windows now and the sliding door in Kate's room. There is one door left to do, but that has to wait until the patio is finished. Yay to keep the flies out.

Amie is flat out at work and Tafe.

The girls are all enjoying school/Kindy. And keeping us all on our toes. :)

Happy Mother's Day

I have had a wonderful day today, starting off with Phil and the girls bringing me breakfast in bed! Poached eggs on toast and a hot chocolate. Delicious. Handmade cards, presents and little gifts from the school Mother's Day stall. They will be treasured always. I also got a lovely purple nightie chosen by Kate! Can't wait for cooler nights to wear it. Amie & Ruby gave me Roses chocolates and some scrapbooking bits and pieces. Very spoilt indeed!

Then we had a lovely afternoon at Tomato Lake. The girls rode a couple of times around the lake, played heaps on the playground, a few games of soccer and ice creams in the sun.

Hope all the Mum's had a lovely day too.

A Break Away

We've had a lovely few days away at a farmstay in Harvey, about 2 hrs south of Perth. It was one of the most relaxing holidays with kids I've had - there was so much for them to do! They spent lots and lots of time feeding the animals, collecting the eggs, on the playground and making new friends! Hooray for new friends.

We visited Sterling Cottage, beautiful gardens which we loved walking around.

Pony rides were a huge hit, as were the ute rides around the paddocks!

A night out at the country trots was a new experience!

Accomodation was roomy and the scenery breathtaking!

Gorgeous sunset

We climbed up the top of the Big Orange, Ella was a bit frightened but managed to get all the way to the top. Well she was carried some of the way ...

The girls tried out their new fishing rods - no fish though!

and the girls favourite friends!
