Finally ...

After what seemed like an eternity at home with sickies, we ventured out today for some sunshine (before a week of predicted rain!)

We caught the train into the City (the girls love doing this) As soon as we arrived we got some lunch and sat in the sun and watched the people go by

Then to the shops
The girls love trying on shoes whenever they spot some
They didn't get any :)

Ella wanted a photo of her resting.
You can just see her on the red chair.
This is in David Jones.

We looked around for a couple more hours then decided we had had enough.
There was too many people for my liking.
Well it is school holidays after all.

The train station was pretty desserted while we waited.

There are always a few pigeons about.

And here it is

Good to sit down!

Day 3

It's been another quiet and dull day here. No rain, but still cold. Trying to stay home for as long as it takes to get the girls well (esp Ella) Keeping her in a warm place is helping. I'm hoping for some sunshine soon so I can get her out. Today they played on the Singstar for awhile, they played zoo's with their huge box of animals, cleaned the girls bedrooms out and changed them around, they read books (and ate lunch) in the tent, lots of colouring-in, and of course - dress-ups! Will need to get my thinking cap on for tomorrow!

Day 2

Nothing exciting here today. Dropped girls off to Amie while I went to my home help job. Then went to the accountant and to register the cars. When the kids came home, we went straight to the library. Now we are stocked up on books and dvd's. Girls are still not too well, so will probably be home the next couple of days resting.

School Holidays - Day 1

Rain!!!! We need it, we really do, but for the first day of the hols? The good thing I guess is the kids are sick, so the rain is forcing us to stay home. Hopefully they'll get better soon. Now to think of ways to keep them busy (and not fighting) Ruby is here today too - two's company and three's a crowd as everyone knows.

Introducing ....

Not one, but TWO Hannah Montana's! Woohoo!

It was a mufti day today for the last day of term, the theme was music! So the girls both wanted to go as HM. Don't they look gorgeous?

Mid - Year Dancing Concert

Today the girls will dance for us! I'll be back later with hopefully some good photos to share!

Well, I didn't get any photos today! Firstly, we were too far back in the first half to really see (I have a cheap camera) and secondly I forgot I had the camera - I was too busy watching! Nevermind. We all enjoyed watching the show and they all did so well. Very proud!

Here's some photos from the end of year concert last year!

Beautiful ballerina's. They performed "Little Miss Muffet"

Our Jazz girl - performed "Hey Baby!

The Acrobats girl performed "Abracadabra"

Tap girl performed "Baby Face"

Now that the mini-concert is out of the way - it's coming up to exam time! (end of July)

Afternoon Tea

We had a family afternoon tea for the birthday girl this year. Quiet but lovely all the same.
Blue is Kate's favourite colour, but without using food colouring, it is hard to find blue food.
Blueberries are NOT a favourite.
So the food had some pink amongst it too.
She had chosen the movies this year to celebrate - Hannah Montana - but when we checked it out (release date was Thurs) we realised it didn't start in WA until next week.
So she chose Night at the Museum2 which we all liked, although it was quite late and seeing as Kate had been up since 4am, was getting pretty tired.
Next week we will take a couple of her friends to see Hannah Montana!
At bedtime, she declared it to be a wonderful day, her favourite presents were the DSi, skateboard and two pairs of Hannah Montana pj's!

Happy 8th Birthday Kate!!!

This beautiful happy girl ...

grew from this amazing baby!

Our silly cat

For the last few weeks, Gordon has slept under the couch everyday from about 6am to 5pm. He has made two holes under the cushions (naughty boy!!!) and that's how he gets in. Usually he wriggles down and the cushions fall back into place so you would never know he is in there! Today Kate lifted it off fo him as she was sitting right there.

Anyone else has a cat who sleeps in funny places?

An afternoon in the sun

We headed out to the park this afternoon with the bikes, some food and a bit of light reading

A great playground for the kidlets

Plenty of room for riding

These monkey bars were the perfect height
for little legs

The girls spent an hour on this horrible spinny thing!
Honestly I hate these things.

A stroll past the lake ...

... to watch the boats

Ruby gets glasses too!

Yes! It's official ~ this is the glasses family! All the girls now wear them. It's such a strong genetic condition that affects females on Phil's side of the family. He is the only male - well he is a bit of a girl ha ha! He doesn't wear specs, but had numerous operations on his eyes growing up.

So Ruby got hers on Friday - aged 4yrs 5mths. She is in Kindy. Amie was also in Kindy when she got hers at 4yrs 8mths. Kate got hers in Year One at 5yrs 9mths, and Ella got hers in Pre Primary at 5yrs 7mths.

Luckily the girls love their second eyes and have no trouble being reminded to wear them or keep them on. They do get bent out of shape a bit though :)

Anyone else out there with a family full of bad eyesight?

Assembly News

Ella got an Honours Certificate at assembly today (sorry for the crappy photo) She's second from the left. It was awarded to her for writing wonderful stories and always working beautifully. Well done Ella!!!

More Flowers

Amie's latest gorgeous arrangements. The top one she made at the wedding workshop and the second one she made for a friend of mine. Isn't she clever!
