Today we visited a little piece of history in the form of the Mundaring Weir. You can read more about it here . The weather was fabulous (30 deg!) and we had a lovely walk. Kate had studied CY O'Connor last year, so it was an interesting outing for her.

Kings Park

You can't go past Kings Park for a place to take visitors. There is so much to see and do amongst the beautiful gardens and walkways. Playgrounds for the kids, picnic areas, many walks and cycle paths and cafes and restaurants with spectacular views across to the city and Swan river.

We had a lovely few hours out this afternoon in the glorious sunshine and a pleasant 25 deg!

Happy Birthday to me!

I've had a lovely day today, especially great since my Mum and sister are here from New Zealand to celebrate with me. Lots of lovely presents and cards from family and friends, finished off by dinner at my favourite restaurant.

Kalamunda Show 2012

Kate had to perform again this year at our local show, so Ella and I went along to watch. After that we had something to eat, a quick wander around and left. It's the fastest we've been in and out of a show before. We are focusing on our upcoming holiday.

After an eight week wait, I was happy to finally get the last security door fitted to our home.  It's such a large door it had to have a join in it, but that's ok. Yay for keeping those pesky flies out! Even the guy who came to fit it (a different guy did the measuring) said he had never seen a door so big! I'll be able to enjoy the nice breeze coming through here now.
