Happy Birthday Amie!

Amie and the kids came up for lunch today to celebrate Amies birthday yesterday. Presents were exchanged (Ellas birthday was last Monday) and we enjoyed a lovely Sunday roast, followed by cake. Kate didn't feel like her photo taken today! :)

Another Birthday Girl

Today our 'big' girl is 26 years old!!! How can that be? Where did those years go? Unfortunately we have to wait until tomorrow to see her.

Keeping Cool ...

We finally bought three new air conditioners, and they were installed today! The old one in the lounge room had done its day, so when we went to get another one, we also got one for our room and one for Ella!

Birthday Girl

Today we celebrate the youngest member of our household turning 11.

We enjoyed afternoon tea yesterday with close friends.

In a couple of weeks, we will head out to celebrate some more!

Another egg post

I'm always amazed at how different the eggs look when they are in the fridge. Not only in size but in colour, even when they are from the same breed/age of chicken. I like to have a variety in colour, so hoping to get different chickens down the track that lay different colour eggs from what we get now.

Getting through the hot days

The weather has been hot hot hot! The garden is struggling. The chooks are struggling. They often sit in the nesting boxes but don't they. It's like they want to but it requires to much energy and it's too hot to exert any energy. The lemons are coming along nicely, we have managed to keep the water up this summer after we nearly lost the tree 2 years ago. The passionfruit continue to ripen daily.

The Last of the Summer Holidays

I found these photos on my camera that the girls' had taken. They are constantly taking pics and using the cat and chickens in their photo shoots. I'm sure the cat will be pleased when school goes back! I will miss them though, I will miss the sleep-in's, the lazy afternoons (I have kept working through, but usually home by 2pm) and late nights. I will miss their cupcakes. I will even miss their mess.
