Evening Walk
The kids were at the end of a 4 day weekend, noses stuck in their school books rushing to get last minute homework done for tomorrow when I said "lets grab some tea and head up to the falls" So we did. It was a very pleasant night, autumn is my my favourite season of the year. There were quite a few people doing the same thing. It was good to get out in the fresh air and have a break from the indoors!

Catching Up
We met up with our good friends last night, firstly at the movies to see Paper Planes, which starred 3 girls from our dance school as extras
What a fantastic movie! We all enjoyed it! After we went back to their house (at 9pm!) where the kids got right to work making their own paper planes and flying them.
Then the girls found some extra energy and danced the night away. Kate and Ebony gave us a peek at their lyrical dance they are learning.
Some extras got in on the act too ...

Eggs
After more than 2 years of keeping chickens, I recently had to buy (shock, horror!) some eggs! I thought very carefully where I would purchase them from. I knew it wasn't going to be from a supermarket. Then one day I was at the Stockfeed place stocking up on chook food, guinea pig food and bird seed and the owner had some eggs for sale on the counter. Two dozen actually. So I purchased both after being assured they were free range. Got them home, cooked up some that night to have in our hamburgers, along with our "one" left over from our own chooks and I think the photo best describes them.

Case of the Missing Chook
One morning last week, I went to let the chooks out early as usual, but there was only 3.
Omelette.
Where was she?
I waited and waited. Worried, like Happy Feet, she had passed away during the night.
I wasn't going in to discover her body, so I woke Phil up and sent him in.
I waited to hear "she's dead", but no, nothing.
She wasn't there. Where was she? Had a fox taken her during the night? We scanned high and low looking for a clue. A sign. Anything.
Then Phil turned around and called out "there she is" She was wandering around in the run.
Had I missed her first thing? I didn't think so, but now I wasn't sure.
At least she was alive, even if it was a mystery.
An hour later, I was outside again, and noticed we only had 3 chooks again.
Omelette.
Okay, now I was sure she was hiding somewhere.
But where?
There wasn't really that many places.
I finally heard a noise that drew me to their "bus shelter" and there she was, sittting quite happily!
Cheeky girl!

Another Year Older ....
I can't believe our first-born is 27 today! Where do the years go? It seems like yesterday she was born, I remember it more clearly in some ways than the next two daughters, maybe because she was my first? I'm not sure, but it still doesn't seem that long ago. Happy Birthday Amie Turtle :) x
We didn't see her today, but hopefully next weekend.

Perth International Arts Festival - The Giants
We all caught the train into the City this afternoon to see this spectacular display! We only saw the 'girl' giant, but it was pretty awesome to check out what all the fuss was about! The crowds were massive (estimate 400, 000 today, 180, 000 yesterday and ? tomorrow) Well done Perth City! It was great to have this special event that brought so many families together.
