Visiting Santa - Hooray

The girls lined up eagerly awaiting to see the man in red at Myer's Santaland today. He was worth the wait. They told him what they both wanted - Beados and a Baby Alive!

The last day of November

I thought I better update this blog before December arrives tomorrow! Eeek. How did that happen? This year has flown faster than the last.

We've been busy around here getting ready for my Mum arriving from NZ tomorrow for 3 week. Hooray. The bedding is all in the wash with some Softly, mmm smells divine! She'll have Kate's room this time as Phil is away until the day Mum goes back, so she can sleep in with me. Fun!

Three more sleeps until the girls end of year dancing concert. They have a dress rehearsal on Tues night as well, so a couple of early school finishes for them. They are so so excited. Especially Ella as it's her first concert.

As I type this I can smell the scones in the oven, delicious. Jam, cream and butter. I can't wait!

The girls have been playing posties all afternoon. Delivering Christmas mail apparently. It's nearly Christmas you know. Well yes I do know, but I'm in denial and all that. No ideas what to buy the tribe this year.

So that's about it for now.

Sisterly Love

The girls wanted to sleep in the lounge room tonight on the floor. However after they were fighting so much about this and that I said anymore and off to your own beds. Well what do you know? It all went quiet and when I went to check .... looks like they made up!

What's been happening at our place?

Ella now has glasses too. We picked them up yesterday and she's been proudly showing them off to anyone who wants to see them. She carries the case everywhere in one hand and the bottle of cleaner in the other. Very cute. All my girls have to wear glasses to due a left eye defect that Phil has. Phil is actually the only known male to have the condition. His Mum has it, both of his sisters, and a niece. I think Ruby might have it too. We need to get her checked out. So Amie got her first pair of glasses at 4yrs 7mths, Kate was 5yrs 9mths and Ella is 5yrs 8mths. Thanks goodness for PHI!

Kate needed a new pair (her second) the last ones had a huge scratch right down the middle of the lens. Not bad for the amount of thrashing they get.

The house smells beautiful at the mo when we open the front door. Lillies and Iris grace us as we enter! Thanks Amie!

The girls wanted to grow a flower garden so I found them a patch by the front door (so we won't forget to water it) and we went to the garden centre and they picked out a few colourful flowers.

Kate's been practising her flip on the gym ball. Eeek, have to watch out when passing. Might get a foot up the nose!

It's always lovely to get new jarmies!

Especially when they are a surprise by a lovely big sister (and Ruby's Mum!)

South Beach

Ella has been asking to go to the beach for what seems like forever. The last school holidays the weather was too poorly, and these holidays it was the one and only thing on her list. As the weather wasn't great the first week we didn't go. Now that we are running out of days, we had to make a late evening dash there today. That was after I went to work and then took the girls shopping. It was a bit chilly and windy at the beach, but the girls enjoyed it just the same.

Lake Monga

Hot chips for lunch

We had appointments for the girls in the City today and after taking a wrong turn we stumbled upon this wonderful place. As the weather was so lovely we decided once the appointments were over we would get some lunch and head to this lake we didn't know existed. How can we not know? Hmmm.

A home day

I love days when we can potter about at home doing whatever we fancy. The weather was gorgeous so the girls played outside alot. They have also been asking for days to make a fun cake, whatever that meant. Apparently it means one with pink icing and lots of smarties. It tasted yum too!!

A new job

Amie starts her new job today. Same type of work, new place,
M-A-N-A-G-E-R!!! Go girl!

Hooray!

After six very l-o-n-g weeks away, Phil arrives home today just in time for the second week of the school holidays. He was supposed to be away for 3, but 3 turned to 4 which in the blink of an eye became six. To say he's pretty tired is an understatement but I have a list with some small maintenance jobs on it that need to be done. The girls have been saving his Father's Day gifts for his homecoming. It seems so so long ago it was F.D. Oh well with it being the holidays they will have plenty of time with him while he is home.

The best $9.95 ever spent

The girls have had a ball today in the tent I bought them. They played inside in it for ages, moving it about the house. Then they took it outside when the sun came out. Back into the house and tonight it became a camping place. Blankets and pillows and two very tired children later. Wonder how long it will last?

A new park to explore

We had a quiet morning at home today after our busy one yesterday. While looking online for something else, I discovered a park I didn't know existed, and only 20mins from our house. So we grab some fruit and drinks and headed off for a quick play. It was a gorgeous day out and lots of people were enjoying the weather.

Kate loves a park that involves some climbing

A different sort of swing

The girls spent ages spinning on that horrible thing

Time to replenish the energy levels

Watching the canoes

And the speed boat

A peaceful spot, don't you think?

Ripples on the water

We will definitely go again with a picnic, bikes and a ball. The girls could spend hours there. On the way home we stopped to get ice cream and while in the shop Ella said she felt sick, so we hurried out and home. However once we got home, we had no sooner walked in the door when Kate threw up everywhere. Nice! Ella is fine now, so I don't know what that was all about. Maybe too much spinning? Anyway Kate is fast asleep now so hopefully will feel brighter when she wakes.
