A good spot

I love looking at the tree as I sit here, taking note of which ornament was bought where, what the meaning is behind each one, and who made what. My favourites are so often the ones that the girls have made at Kindy/School - made with lots of love and excitement. The ones that I will always treasure as before we know it they are too old for School and it's all store bought (unless you are creative!)

Ella's Christmas Concert

We trundled off in wet weather tonight to watch the Christmas Concert of the Pre-Primary's!
It was okay once we were inside, just getting from the car was the tricky part.
The kids sang a variety of Christmas Carols, some sang s-l-o-w-l-y, some sang with their heads down, some didn't sing at all and some sang so loud that I wished I had a set of ear plugs. No really, it was wonderful.

Ella was a Christmas tree. She is pictured on the far right. Isn't she beautiful?

After the concert we were invited back to the classroom for their graduation certificates. I can't believe my baby will be in Year One next year. How fast did that go?

Her graduation certificate reads:

We have enjoyed having you in our class because you go about your work so eagerly and confidently. You are always so helpful and caring to all your friends. We love the way you use your imagination to create beautiful art work. We love the way you always try so very hard and produce outstanding work. You love to sing and dance and you play so very happily with your friends especially with Amber on the swings.

I am so proud!

Visiting Santa - Hooray

The girls lined up eagerly awaiting to see the man in red at Myer's Santaland today. He was worth the wait. They told him what they both wanted - Beados and a Baby Alive!

The last day of November

I thought I better update this blog before December arrives tomorrow! Eeek. How did that happen? This year has flown faster than the last.

We've been busy around here getting ready for my Mum arriving from NZ tomorrow for 3 week. Hooray. The bedding is all in the wash with some Softly, mmm smells divine! She'll have Kate's room this time as Phil is away until the day Mum goes back, so she can sleep in with me. Fun!

Three more sleeps until the girls end of year dancing concert. They have a dress rehearsal on Tues night as well, so a couple of early school finishes for them. They are so so excited. Especially Ella as it's her first concert.

As I type this I can smell the scones in the oven, delicious. Jam, cream and butter. I can't wait!

The girls have been playing posties all afternoon. Delivering Christmas mail apparently. It's nearly Christmas you know. Well yes I do know, but I'm in denial and all that. No ideas what to buy the tribe this year.

So that's about it for now.

Sisterly Love

The girls wanted to sleep in the lounge room tonight on the floor. However after they were fighting so much about this and that I said anymore and off to your own beds. Well what do you know? It all went quiet and when I went to check .... looks like they made up!

What's been happening at our place?

Ella now has glasses too. We picked them up yesterday and she's been proudly showing them off to anyone who wants to see them. She carries the case everywhere in one hand and the bottle of cleaner in the other. Very cute. All my girls have to wear glasses to due a left eye defect that Phil has. Phil is actually the only known male to have the condition. His Mum has it, both of his sisters, and a niece. I think Ruby might have it too. We need to get her checked out. So Amie got her first pair of glasses at 4yrs 7mths, Kate was 5yrs 9mths and Ella is 5yrs 8mths. Thanks goodness for PHI!

Kate needed a new pair (her second) the last ones had a huge scratch right down the middle of the lens. Not bad for the amount of thrashing they get.

The house smells beautiful at the mo when we open the front door. Lillies and Iris grace us as we enter! Thanks Amie!

The girls wanted to grow a flower garden so I found them a patch by the front door (so we won't forget to water it) and we went to the garden centre and they picked out a few colourful flowers.

Kate's been practising her flip on the gym ball. Eeek, have to watch out when passing. Might get a foot up the nose!

It's always lovely to get new jarmies!

Especially when they are a surprise by a lovely big sister (and Ruby's Mum!)

South Beach

Ella has been asking to go to the beach for what seems like forever. The last school holidays the weather was too poorly, and these holidays it was the one and only thing on her list. As the weather wasn't great the first week we didn't go. Now that we are running out of days, we had to make a late evening dash there today. That was after I went to work and then took the girls shopping. It was a bit chilly and windy at the beach, but the girls enjoyed it just the same.

Lake Monga

Hot chips for lunch

We had appointments for the girls in the City today and after taking a wrong turn we stumbled upon this wonderful place. As the weather was so lovely we decided once the appointments were over we would get some lunch and head to this lake we didn't know existed. How can we not know? Hmmm.
