The Last Day of Being Three!

We let Ruby choose where she wanted to spend her birthday this year (celebrated a day early due to Amie having to work tmrw afternoon) and with a strong influence from Ella & Kate, she chose Scitech which was a new experience for her. And one which she thoroughly loved. She had a ball learning how different things worked. Of course the smaller kids area was the biggest hit.

So proud!

The girls bought their school reports home today so I'll share the teachers comments.

Ella is a very caring and considerate class member. She listens carefully and enjoys telling news and sharing information with the class. She is confident and meticulous in everything she does. Her work is always outstanding. Ella knows all her alphabet sounds and she is beginning to write words. She loves reading, writing and creating beautiful artwork and has made very pleasing progress. Ella plays happily and co-operatively with her friends. Her smile brightens up the class. Ella has been a delight to have in the class.

Kate enjoys a challenge. She is highly motivated and strives to achieve the best results she can. She is an independant worker who requires little or no supervision to complete tasks. Kate's results in all areas have been very good indeed. Congratuations, and good luck in Year Three, Kate.

They've both had a brilliant year, but are now due for a long break. The end of year concert is tonight then the last day of school tomorrow. How fast has this year gone!

A few shots from the park last night ...

Taking a break from the Christmas rush ...

... to enjoy an afternoon outside. Got the kids a new pool today as the last one finally had seen its last day! It was really warm out there, putting it all together was exhausting. I had to keep stopping and standing in the shade. Now I have a headache, but at least the girls had fun!

Back to the madness tomorrow ...

A good spot

I love looking at the tree as I sit here, taking note of which ornament was bought where, what the meaning is behind each one, and who made what. My favourites are so often the ones that the girls have made at Kindy/School - made with lots of love and excitement. The ones that I will always treasure as before we know it they are too old for School and it's all store bought (unless you are creative!)

Ella's Christmas Concert

We trundled off in wet weather tonight to watch the Christmas Concert of the Pre-Primary's!
It was okay once we were inside, just getting from the car was the tricky part.
The kids sang a variety of Christmas Carols, some sang s-l-o-w-l-y, some sang with their heads down, some didn't sing at all and some sang so loud that I wished I had a set of ear plugs. No really, it was wonderful.

Ella was a Christmas tree. She is pictured on the far right. Isn't she beautiful?

After the concert we were invited back to the classroom for their graduation certificates. I can't believe my baby will be in Year One next year. How fast did that go?

Her graduation certificate reads:

We have enjoyed having you in our class because you go about your work so eagerly and confidently. You are always so helpful and caring to all your friends. We love the way you use your imagination to create beautiful art work. We love the way you always try so very hard and produce outstanding work. You love to sing and dance and you play so very happily with your friends especially with Amber on the swings.

I am so proud!

Visiting Santa - Hooray

The girls lined up eagerly awaiting to see the man in red at Myer's Santaland today. He was worth the wait. They told him what they both wanted - Beados and a Baby Alive!

Ella doing it the old fashioned way - writing a letter to Santa
Kate doing it the modern way - Email!!!

The last day of November

I thought I better update this blog before December arrives tomorrow! Eeek. How did that happen? This year has flown faster than the last.

We've been busy around here getting ready for my Mum arriving from NZ tomorrow for 3 week. Hooray. The bedding is all in the wash with some Softly, mmm smells divine! She'll have Kate's room this time as Phil is away until the day Mum goes back, so she can sleep in with me. Fun!

Three more sleeps until the girls end of year dancing concert. They have a dress rehearsal on Tues night as well, so a couple of early school finishes for them. They are so so excited. Especially Ella as it's her first concert.

As I type this I can smell the scones in the oven, delicious. Jam, cream and butter. I can't wait!

The girls have been playing posties all afternoon. Delivering Christmas mail apparently. It's nearly Christmas you know. Well yes I do know, but I'm in denial and all that. No ideas what to buy the tribe this year.

So that's about it for now.
