Happy Father's Day

Phil has had a lovely quiet day today! After such a busy day yesterday and only getting home from being away late Thursday night, and with heading back away to work mid-week, he just wanted to have a day at home. The girls' and I didn't mind either as we were all pretty tired after yesterday. We  gave Phil his presents, which as you can see were some tools amongst other bits and pieces (scratchies not shown) so he spent most of the day out in his shed pottering around. He started to build me something out of recycled materials. More on that later. The girls' walked down to the park in our street a couple of times where they met up with the neighbourhood kids. I even had a nap which is just what I needed. When I woke, I decided we would go out to tea at our favourite italian restaurant 10mins up the hill from us.

Jonah turns TWO

We celebrated our grandson Jonah turning TWO today with a small family bbq! The weather was a bit showery on and off, but by no means cold.

He loved getting another present to open and opened each one very carefully

The singing birthday card was a big hit, and very funny

Amie painted Jonah's new room last week, and together with Brendan they put together Jonah's new car bed for him last night

What a fantastic present!

We gave him some summer clothes, summer pj's, a book, the petrol pump and this cool car!

he was so excited by it (we knew it would be a big hit) it went inside and outside all afternoon

and backwards he goes

and then he disappeared

and the wonderful cake Amie made!

School Excursion

Today, I went with Ella's class to Caversham Wildlife Park. It was a lovely spring day despite rain being forecast. The kids were all really well behaved (small groups of 3 made it easier) and we had plenty of time to wander around before stopping for a picnic lunch.
