Winter Days!

This was the first day we got 5 eggs from 5 chickens. This means Ebony-Rose is now laying. I suspect this isn't her first egg, but it was hard to tell before if it was hers or not, and we had never actually seen her in the nesting box or looking the least bit interested, so who knows? Anyway today with 5 eggs, she is definitely laying. We have so many eggs now due to the warm weather I will make a quiche later on! The garden is growing well too - beans in the making! Yum. We do desperatly need some rain though, we were well below average for June, so hopefully July will bring some relief.

Mid Winter Family Bike Ride!

Seeing it was such a beautiful day today, and Phil's last day of R and R, we packed the bikes on the back of the Ute and went down to Burswood for a ride around the Swan River. It took nearly 2 hours with plenty of stops along the way. We all have very tired legs tonight!

Kate wanted a sleepover party this year to celebrate turning 12. She organised everything giving me lists of what I needed to buy. I must say, she did a terrific job with keeping her friends entertained. The weather was fine, so they could spend some time outside too. I'm glad it's over though, it was a very late night and early morning. A great start to the school holidays!
