Mischief!

One day during the recent school holidays, the girls tidied out the linen cupboard for me (they were trying to earn some money for shopping!) I must say they did a great job. I probably would have done a few things differently but a really good effort for a first time from 11 and 12 year olds. What did amuse me, was when I was uploading some photos from my camera that I took, I came across some they had taken from that day.

Enjoying the Weather

We have all been enjoying the autumn weather. Finally the skies opened up and delivered some decent rainfall. The nights have cooled down, perfect for snuggling under the doona. The garden (and weeds!) are growing like crazy. The cat is enjoying time in the straw while the chooks are out!

Easter 2014

Yesterday the girls' were up early for the Easter egg hunt! We are all chocoholics in this house, so we did endulge slightly! After we cleaned up, we headed out and picked up Amie and the kids and headed to Adventure World for what will probably be our last visit this season. The kids all had a great time as always, and it wasn't too packed.

Cleaning the Coop

I set a few hours aside today for a big autumn clean up of the coop. Now all the moulting is over, there was plenty of feathers to be raked up and plenty of manure to go on the gardens. Water bowls and food containers were given a good scrub, Walls were washed down. Spider webs removed. Then came new straw. The chickens thought all their Christmases had come at once.
