A day out to Pinjarra

Late morning, I made a snap decision to drive south to Pinjarra and visit the Zoo! So with Ella getting dropped home around 11am, we did a few bits and pieces and were on the road by 12pm. We arrived nearly an hour later, and had a great time. The weather was cool and cloudy, so at least it stayed dry. They have had a lot of rain down there, so some of the pens were pretty muddy. But the animals looked well and happy and well cared for. We stopped afterwards at the famous bakery for lunch, which we ate by the river.

Winter Walk to Lesmurdie Falls

On a spur of the moment this morning, Kate and I threw some clothes on and headed to a place we love but haven't been for ages - Lesmurdie Falls, which is just a five minute drive from our house. Ella wanted to stay home and pack to go to a friends and Phil wasn't well, so just the two of us set off. It was lovely up there after all the rain, and quite a few walkers as well. Kate had no knee pain and she forgot her knee support. It was great getting back to the thing she loved!
