This was the first day we got 5 eggs from 5 chickens. This means Ebony-Rose is now laying. I suspect this isn't her first egg, but it was hard to tell before if it was hers or not, and we had never actually seen her in the nesting box or looking the least bit interested, so who knows? Anyway today with 5 eggs, she is definitely laying. We have so many eggs now due to the warm weather I will make a quiche later on! The garden is growing well too - beans in the making! Yum. We do desperatly need some rain though, we were well below average for June, so hopefully July will bring some relief.

I can't wait for our chickens to start laying! We got the chicks early March and I'm really hoping they'll start laying soon. Wish I could send some rain your way - on July 4th we had 9 inches alone! Since then we've had at least 3 more...
