Out and About

We had a visit to the Perth Zoo yesterday. It's always a favourite place of ours to visit, but yesterday it was a little too hot with no breeze, even though we went early. We took food and drink with us but it made the bag too heavy for me to carry for long. I got very grumpy. Ella took her 'baby' even though I said many times to leave it in the car, then got sick of carrying after awhile. I suddenly developed a sore foot which made walking hard. So with all that happening we weren't there as long as I had hoped. Nevermind, the girls enjoyed spending their pocket money in the gift shop and we got ice creams on the way home.

A train ride, the Museum and the Library!

Today was going to be warm again after a couple of cool ones so we thought we would catch the train into the city and head to the Perth Museum to check out what was on for the school holidays.

They had a great time with olden day toys - knucklebones, quoits, wooden puzzles, paperdolls. Unfortunatley their air con had broken down so it got very hot after awhile. So we headed out ofr some lunch and freshair!

Afterwards we went to the library where the girls got a couple of books each at 50cents each. I got a book too called Bread and Jam and Hidings! - A country Childhood in Western Australia Before WWll. Now I need a minute to get started - uninterrupted.

Camping Break

We thought we would head away for a few days camping before Phil goes away again (he leaves tmrw) so we packed the car and kids up and headed down the coast to enjoy some swimming (too cold for me though even though the air temp was over 35deg each day) sand, sun and relaxing! The girls made some friends at the camp and generally had a blast! Ella cried on the morning we left, she didn't want to come home. However an hour later she was crying for a different reason - an earache! Poor chicken is not too well. :( Now we are home and back to the everyday drudgery that we know!

Welcome 2009

Happy New Year!

With a sweltering 39 degrees predicted for today, where better to head than the pools! We all went today (including Amie's partner) so that was a nice change. Four adults and 3 kids. It meant I could get a nice relaxing swim in.
