We're in the PINK

With five females living in this house, we certainly have a lot of PINK about. Ella's most favourite colour in the whole wide world is PINK. She has alot of PINK things on her Christmas wish list!

Pink is a softer, less violent red. Pink is the sweet side of red. It's cotton candy and bubble gum and babies, especially little girls.

Good pink:
In the pink - healthy
Tickled pink - happy, content
Pink collar - female office worker (sometimes used in a derogatory manner)

Pink Words: These words are synonymous with pink or represent various shades of the color pink.
Salmon, coral, hot pink, fuschia, blush, flesh, flush, fuchsia, rose.

Is Pink Your Favourite Color?

Federal Election Day

Yesterday was Federal Election Day in Australia. After 11 years with a Liberal Government and Mr John Howard as Prime Minister, last night saw a victory for the Labor Party and a new Prime Minister.
I wonder how this government will go. I look forward to seeing Mr Kevin Rudd in his new role.

An afternoon at the beach

We headed off to the beach after I finished work today as it was a very warm 37 deg! The girls swam lots and lots :) made sandcastles, collected shells and we ate fish and chips there before we came home. Some very tired people in this house tonight.

First strawberry!!! Yum!!!
Silverbeet growing well ...
The pumpkin's are doing well ...
So is the watermelon!

And so the mess begins ...

Phil started ripping up our old patio yesterday - hooray! Kate helped him ALL day. That girl is such a worker. Despite hurting herself many times, she never gave in. Later on in the day after they had knocked off ~ I found them asleep on the couch together. Lovely!

I'm not sure how much more will get done before Phil goes away again in Thurs as we have a few other things to get through.

A Gift

A very special online friend sent a Baby Born to Ella & Kate that her girls no longer play with. They've been having lots and lots of fun with her.

Visitors

Amie is looking after a few birds for 2 weeks that Ruby's Grandma is rearing. They need to be fed every hour. That's more times a day than a human baby!

Shopping Budget

This weeks grocery shop was made up of:

$23.75 on fruit, veg and eggs.

$17.66 Woolworths

$57.88 Coles

Total : $99.27

I'm thrilled with that - I did forget sliced ham though so will have to pop back for that, but I allowed $120 for the week so still have some left over for extra milk and fruit. I'm going to keep a record each week just for comparison.

Blergh Sickness Strikes

Well last Monday (29th Oct) Ruby started vomiting about 9am. This continues solidly for a couple of hours where the poor girl couldn't even hold down water Amie took her straight to PMH where they stayed until 10pm that night. They arrived home, Ruby was hungry by then and they went to bed. 12:30am it all started again. Tuesday she was better after breakkie.

Wednesday Ella went to Kindy in the morning -fine. Took Kate to Jazz after school and Ella and I strolled down to the library like we often do. Suddenly Ella said she felt sick, so we rushed outside where she through up in the garden. Poor thing! We watched Kate's class and Ella slept on my knee. More sickness in the car on the way home. This continued until the following afternoon. Friday all was well in our house. Sat & Sun *I* got it. Blergh! Looking after two girls while sick was no fun.

But they were so good, really really well behaved. I was so proud of the way they let Mum sleep when I needed too. They played alot of games with their dolls, and Ruby's kitchen.

I couldn't have asked for two better daughters!
