Back to school #2

With school starting back and the girls loving their fruit & veg, we went shopping today and stocked up on all their favourites for their wraps etc. Also with dancing starting back, we often get home late, so it's a time saver to have veg already chopped.

Here we have:

  • watermelon
  • deli ham
  • grapes
  • cauliflower
  • broccoli
  • red onion
  • red & green capsicum
  • strawberries
  • kiwifruit
  • cherry tomates
  • lettuce
  • carrot

First Day School

Ruby is starting Year One today at a new school (as they moved late last year down the coast) She was very nervous without her friends but I'm sure she'll make new friends really quickly.

Kate & Ella don't start back until Wednesday,

Back to school #1

We have still not quite adjusted back to Perth time yet, the girls and I are still waking every day between 4am and 4:30am. The good thing is we get so much done before the heat of the day.

Today Kate (who is my cleaning and organizing gal and is currently re-organizing her wardrobe even though it doesn't need it) decided at 5am we should tidy/clean the plastic drawer in getting ready for school snacks and lunches.

I had bought them a few new containers for this year, and we bought new lunchboxes when we were in NZ. Quite a few of the containers had had it (I do wash them in the dishwasher and still get a few months out of them so no complaints) so we threw out those and added the new ones.

After, I got carried away and cleaned out 5 more kitchen drawers, the freezer, fridge and sorted through the recipe books.

All in all a productive day!

Weather Change

As predicted :

Cyclone Bianca is on its way!

Kate and I had JUST finished getting the washing off the line and putting all the outside gear away safely in the shed. We were going to do it later in the day as the temp was 40 degrees, but we thought we would get on with it. We are so thankful we did! I was literally closing the garage door when the rain came.

Kate dancing in the rain!

Keeping Cool

With another hot day on the horizon (yesterday got to 44 deg, day before was 41 deg) after I had mowed the lawn, the girls decided to jump on the tramp with the hose. When you don't have a pool, you have to think outside the square!

We are back from seeing Dad and the Family in NZ. I hardly got the camera out because infact we hardly went anywhere to take photos. We spent alot of the time with Dad and Mum and the rest of the family who had come to spend time with him.

We did take the kids to Splash Planet wtare theme park which they thoroughly enjoyed. The following day we visited a petting zoo which they loved as well. Other than that we met up with friends at a local park, did a bit of shopping, swimming in the motel pool and visiting family & friends.

Another hot day

These two love hanging out together
Today we headed down to visit Amie, Ruby & Jonah. We had bought Jonah a water & sand table for Christmas but when it was opened, found it to be broken. Having gone away Boxing Day, we only just got around to replacing it. He absolutely loved it (we knew he would as he is such a water baby. We also got the kids a clam shell, filling half with water (which will double as a lid) and half with sand.

Jonah wasn't the least bit interested in the sand, but we couldn't keep him out of the water!

Albany Dec 2010 - Jan 2011

Canoeing down the King River
We packed up the car & trailer and headed down to Albany (5hrs south of Perth) for some rest & relaxation. He stayed in a lovely holiday park where we only saw the girls when they were hungry or tired. They made a group of friends from the first day and they all got on so well. The girls wanted to hang around the camp every single day which was fine by us as we napped, read and chatted to other campers. On the last day we went to Denmark and visited this wonderful animal farm which was very hands on for the girls.

Here are a few pics from the holiday!

Cool fun on the waterslide

Kate loves fishing despite not catching anything

Ella spent lots of time drawing with her new friend Michael
