We had Ella's sixth birthday party today at Jungle Gym It's such a wonderful place to wear the kids out. The jumped and swung and ran and climbed solidly for a hour before heading to the party room for food, drink and cake!!! After that a few games in the party room and then home for some dinner (which they hardly ate) a shower and flopped into bed, utterly exhausted. Ella was asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow!

Student of the Week
Ella was awarded student of the week for her class today. She is the second class member to get it for the year, and the first girl! She gets to do all the important jobs like ringing the bell, being the leader when walking out of the classroom, choosing class members for jobs and other bits and pieces.
We are so proud of you!

Moving Day!
No! Not me, thank goodness!
Amie & Ruby are moving out to their own place.
It's actually the second time they have left, however last time they moved in with a friend of Amie's. Needless to say, they were back six weeks later!
I'm sure it will be a much more positive experience this time around.
Ella is looking forward to sleep overs - she will miss Ruby immensely!
No doubt we will still see them almost everyday. They are only a fifteen minute car ride away.
Anyway better get back to it.
Amie has to work a ten hour day today, Ruby is at Grandma's for the weekend, Phil is away, so it's mostly me, and then Amie's partner and his mate will arrive after they finish work today to do the heavy stuff.

Fond Memories
Little Jenny Wren posted on her blog about Golden Books, which bought back many happy memories. I had heaps as a child, but sadly I haven't got any from my own childhood. The ones that were Amie's (and now the younger girls) came from school galas and friends.
Kate decided to dig out what we had (she was excited we had some the same!)

Baby Dear was one of Amie's favourites when she was a small girl.
I remember a friend giving it to me for her and she loved it fondly

And they're off ....
... they were all so excited!
Kate was excited to get back to school and her friends and move over to the Year Three and Four area. She has two teachers, I only met one this morning and she seemed lovely. They were straight into their work, no gently breaking them anymore :)
After dropping Kate to class and settling her in, we rushed to Ella's Year One class. Kate used to be in the same class in Year One with the same two teachers so Ella felt right at home. She's sitting next another little blondie with glasses. I hope they will be good friends. Year One seems so grown up!
From there I took Ruby to Kindy. Once again the teacher is familiar as it was Kate's Kindy teacher. (Ella had a different one) Ruby was very brave and after we did a couple of puzzles, she gave me a kiss goodbye and I left.
She had a fab time and happily chatted about her morning when I picked her up (they have half days to start) She got a certificate and she is very proud.
