Good grief!

I have conjunctivitis. Boo hoo. I know it's highly contagous but none of my kids have ever had it, not have Phil or I. One eye is really really bad. It's closed. The other is like looking through a smokey haze. Hope the drops kick in soon.

Thoughtfulness

Today is the last day of the school holidays. I went back to work yesterday though as Phil is home at present. So the girls got to spend the last couple of days with their Dad. When I got home this arvo, they were excited to show me what they had made for me. Aren't they gorgeous?
They got to walk to the park to pick the flowers. Beautiful girls. Beautiful flowers.

Family Day

Quiet day today after a very late night with visitors over. We ALL went to see Kung Fu Panda at the movies. The girls didn't enjoy it at all (no surprises there, I tried to talk them out of going) so they fidgetted all the way through and chatted. Luckily there wasn't many there and we were right up the back so didn't disturb anyone. It wasn't a movie I enjoyed either, infact I fell asleep half way through it - Ssshh... Ha ha! Phil & Amie loved it though - just as well someone did at the price it cost to get in.

Then a bit of shopping - shoes for Phil, perfume for me and a packet of balloons for the girls (for their babies birthday party)

Wet (again!) Friday

The girls were in charge of the camera today, so after they made an indoor cubby

lots of things to play with at 'home'

and played 'babies' They have been playing with the baby borns constantly all week. Feeding and changing them regularly throughout the day. Putting them to bed at 1pm and 5pm. Babies need lots and lots of sleep you know.

Ella and her babies

they set about taking happy snaps. The weather was wet again so definitely another indoor day. We are starting to run out of ideas

serious Kate! funny Kate!

to fill the days, thankfully we only have a few left. With Phil home last night, at least the girls have someone else to play games with, and he does give the best piggy-backs! I had a much overdue colour & cut today,

Phil about to sneeze!

I feel like a new woman. We have friends coming over tonight so at least I have someone to show it off to :) Then we did some selfportraits of the three of us.

Do you know how really hard it is to get us all looking half decent at the same time?

say cheese!

Every Girl Needs a Pair of Sunnies

Ruby is utterly and totally obsessed with her new Dora sunglasses that Grandma bought her back from America last week.

She takes them everywhere with her, hiding them in her bag at daycare

I hope she doesn't lose them permanently anytime soon, the tears would be too much to bear

She snuggles with them in bed at night

And gets cross when she can't find them

Just another day in paradise

A nice sleep-in this morning, followed by pancakes for breakfast. A much overdue trip to the library where the girls stocked up on books, cd's and dvd's to keep them occupied with all the wet weather we are having this week. After lunch we set out again, supposedly to the park but it rained again, so we headed to the toy shop and bought Junior Scrabble. Great game, the girls have had so much fun with it.

Tuesday Week Two

Today I really really struggled to get out of bed. I haven't slept well for the last few nights and have been extremely busy during the day. Now I am utterly exhausted. If the girls had been at school today I seriously would have slept all day. I have a very sore neck and bordering on a migraine. Not long until girls will be in bed. It has been a very wet day, which was a blessing really as I would have done stuff outside had the weather been fine. Instead we headed to the shops early as I needed some storage for under the beds. The girls all got a book each and we got the few grocery items we needed. Stopped for a snack and drink and then left. Called in at a friends on the way home to drop off baby clothes to her for her baby which is due end of October. Came home, and instead of resting, I did loads of washing and cleaned the house. I couldn't go to bed and leave it like that. Hopefully tomorrow will be brighter and the painting can continue.
Two more sleeps until Phil is home. Hooray!

Now to yellow

Actually, slight change of plan. I remembered last night that when I paint our bedroom it will be green, and I didn't want two bedrooms the same, so we decided to go with yellow. Lovely sunny yellow. Amie agreed thankfully.

Shades of green

Amie & Ruby are moving home, so I'm going to paint the bedroom green before they move back in. Amie wants lime but we wil just have to see. The new furniture she's ordered arrives sometime next week.
Better get onto it then.

Day Four

Another lovely holiday day at our house. The weather was more of the same - wet, cold and very very windy. A huge storm is brewing at about 7pm tonight. Eeek!

Kate got a late birthday present in the mail from her Aunt and cousins in NZ - crayola pens, a pencilcase and special silver heart necklace. Beautiful. It's nice to get something new during the holiday break. We watched Little Women today with a bowl of popcorn. I love love that movie. We made cupcakes. Delicious. The girls all had haircuts.
Well Ruby got just a trim as her hair doesn't grow very fast. so a wee trim in order to try and thicken it up a bit. Hot dogs for tea. Now we'll sit back and wait for the storm.

Day Three

We've had a lovely day, not quite what was planned due to it being wet when we got up. First we made pancakes for breakfast, always a huge hit in this house! Then Kate declared it was cleaning up day. I tell you, this child is seriously obsessed with tidying and cleaning. Hope it lasts :) So we changed the lounge room around, cleaning, polishing, decluttering and washing the cushion covers. Next was onto Kate's room. We had changed it around not so long ago so it wasn't too dusty under the bed or behind the drawers. I did some painting after lunch (how boring are those door frames?) Then onto cleaning out the fridge and off to do the food shopping. The girls begged and begged for party hats and fairy torches. Lucky they are so cute and have been exceptionally good today. Now they are tucking into choc chip ice cream for dessert, then it will be bath & bed.

In the City

The girls were starving when we arrived in the city so we headed to Muffin Break for a hot chocolate and a muffin. The girls both chose a choc chip one as they have to always have the exact same thing.

**********************************************************

We did a bit of shopping after that, some new trackies for me to slob around the house in, ha ha! Had a look in David Jones and found Phil a gorgeous wool jumper for half price. Got to love a bargain. Kate & Ella chose some canvas pictures to paint for their rooms which will give them something to do when it's raining tomorrow. We noodled around a few more shops, nothing really taking my fancy, but it was nice to browse.

**********************************************************

Then we had a wander out in the lovely winter sunshine and decided to go to the museum. It's always a favourite place to visit for us.

**********************************************************

There are a few lovely building that surround the museum, not sure what they were once used for or what they are now as there were no signs up, but they were lovely nonetheless.

The Museum of Western Australia

The dinosaur skeletons are always a hit.

I love the colours in this window

The girls infront of a rock collection

The solar system

And the girls most favourite part - Discovery

Ella playing with some dinosaurs.

Kate with a jigsaw puzzle

Watching the commuters catching the train.

Miss Ella, taken by Kate

Kate (and me ... Eeeek!) taken by Ella

I thought Ella was very quiet on a train home, she did alot of walking today, I was very proud of her as she usually asks a squillion times if I can carry her. Lucky for her she's so small and sweet. :)

Bless her xx

It's been a great day, the girls said when we got home, what a wonderful day they had. Makes it all worthwhile when they say that.
